Carbon Reduction Plan
Amethyst Risk Management is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year:
2021 (January – December)
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Baseline information previously provided:
Amethyst is an SME cyber security consultancy. We purely sell services across the UK. We do not sell products. 2022 is the first year we have provided emissions figures (Figures for 2021).
As a small organisation with no offices, we have very low emissions figures. We aim, as part of our environmental policy, to cut our emissions as much as possible in line with business needs.
For Amethyst, the following is covered for each of our total emissions values.
- Scope one covers the emissions from fuels or resources directly owned or controlled by Amethyst.
- Scope two covers greenhouse gas emissions produced when generating the energy that Amethyst purchases i.e. At our secure facility (which is now no longer in use).
- Scope three covers the business travel required for the organisation.
The values below have been worked out using the GHG emission calculation tool.
Baseline year emissions:

Current Emissions Reporting
Reporting Year:
2025 (January – December)
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Baseline information:
As the organisation no longer operates any permanent physical office locations or facilities, there is no purchase or consumption of energy associated with such premises. Therefore, there are no applicable scope two emissions to report.

Carbon Reduction: Projects vs. Actual
Carbon Reduction Projects
Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving net zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets:
- In our previous plan we had aimed to cut our emissions by 40% by 2027, however given that the organisation has grown by circa. 50%, our emissions have decreased per employee when compared to the 2021 baseline.
- In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we will continue to work towards our previous reduction target of 40% by 2027.
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2021 baseline:
- We no longer have our physical office in Farnborough and therefore have eliminated our scope 2 emissions.
- Promoting the use of public transport and virtual meetings.
- Promoting the use of electric vehicles where vehicular travel for business purposes is necessary.
Future Carbon Reduction initiatives
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
- We will continue to promote the use of public transport and virtual meetings.
- We will continue to promote the use of electric vehicles for business travel where possible.
