The CMMC program now mandates that all DIB contractors handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) or Federal Contract Information (FCI) meet the NIST 800-171r2 standard. Without this certification, companies will not be eligible for contract awards, whether as prime contractors or subcontractors.
What is CMMC Certification
Certification is conducted against controls from NIST 800-171r2 and assessed against NIST 800-171a with 100% compliance required for all applicable controls, Amethyst’s team can support your path to achieving the right level of compliance for your needs.
Certification is required at one of three levels dependant upon the data held, this will be specified in a solicitation, and CMMC requirements must be met prior to contract award:
- Level 1 – Lowest level – Self assessment.
- Level 2 – Mid level – Self assessment.
- Level 2 – Mid level – 3rd party certified assessment.
- Level 3 – Top level – DIBCAC* certified assessment.
